Mini Hot Cross Buns

Cook time - 20-25 minutes

Difficulty - Easy

Serves / makes - 12 mini hot cross buns


Ingredients

100g ground oats 

60g sultanas or raisins 

Zest of 1 lemon

1t ground cinnamon

Pinch allspice

Pinch nutmeg

6T water

2T ground flax seed 

1 apple


Equipment

Mixing bowl

Mixing spoon

Grater

Knife

Baking tray


Method

  1. Set your oven to 200c/390f/GM6.

  2. Mix the oats, sultanas, lemon zest, spices, flax and water in a bowl. Grate half the apple into the bowl and mix well.

  3. Roll the mixture into 12 balls using wet hands. Use the back of a knife to make a cross indent in each ball. Cut the apple into matchsticks, put them into the crosses.

  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
